Gematria how to read

?

gematria is an ancient Hebrew system of assigning numerical values to letters, words, and phrases. It is believed to have originated in pre-Biblical times and has been used by many religions throughout history. It is based on the premise that words and names have inherent spiritual meaning and power, which can be unlocked by substituting numerical values for their letters. Gematria has been widely used for divination, prophecy, interpretations of sacred texts, making connections between disparate ideas or symbolism, cryptography, and more.

To understand how to read gematria one must first understand the basic structure. The Hebrew alphabet consists of 22 individual letters that all correspond to a specific number from one to four hundred. By assigning each letter to a specific numerical value it makes it easier to assign numerical value to words and phrases. For example the Hebrew word "torah" (תורה) has a gematric value of 611: 2+6+200+400 = 611.

In order to understand how gematria works one must learn how to calculate the gematric value of a word or phrase using the values assigned to each letter in the Hebrew alphabet. This can be done using several different methods such as simple math calculations or using preset formulaic systems like Ordinary Standard Gematria or Kabbalistic Gematria variants such as Notarikon (נוטריקון). Once the equation for a word's total gematric value is determined then you can begin exploring its intrinsic spiritual meaning with careful study from an experienced guide or teacher.

When reading scriptural texts with gemmatria in mind look for patterns among different passages or ideas contained within them. Gemmatric values often reveal unexpected yet highly meaningful correlations between two hitherto unrelated ideas contained within two separate verses. Additionally connecting numbers present in passages together may bring other words into focus whose gemmatric equivalency relates back to the original subject at hand in unexpected ways drawing deeper insight into a given passage's underlying message . For example this passage from Genesis 1:1 – בְּרֵאשִׁית בָּרָא אֱלהִים אֵת הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֵת האָרֶץ ''In the beginning God created Heaven and Earth'' – when broken down into its individual letters it reveals a powerful numerical message: 913 + 203 + 86 + 401 + 395 + 407 = 2100, representing absolute perfection in creation which corresponds both musically and in terms of astrological symbolism – 2 & 100 being both perfect musical intervals as well as displaying perfect symmetry found in nature itself (elevation vs depression).
